YESTERDAY • TODAY • TOMORROW

The emotions of anger, resentment, and guilt come in all shapes and sizes based on your loss and your relationship to it.

These are the things that can keep us detached from healing and yet sometimes, these are the emotions we must feel in order to get to a place of healing.

Taking a few minutes to deliberately allow yourself to think about what your life felt like before your loved one left, how it feels now, and then how your life might appear in the future, can give you a roadmap that would honor your loved one while feeling proactive in your journey. Using this tool to draw what your emotions might look like—instead of using words— can open new possibilities that may have been difficult or impossible to see before.

Don’t be concerned with being an artist or trying to make the images make sense on this one. The point is to let your emotions become visible in a way you may not have allowed before.

WHAT THIS COULD HELP YOU WITH:

• Opening to ways to honor your loved one.

• Giving yourself permission to visualizing the past, present, and future.

QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT THINK ABOUT:

• How I hope to feel in the future?

• What does my picture mean to me?

• Is there a clue in my drawings about how I can heal as well as honor?
